Haunted in Paris

Because I'm a pretty lucky person, I just returned from a week in Paris. I was lucky enough to have a chance to present at the WRAB conference in Paris last week, and while there, to spend time wandering the streets and historical sites of the city.

Plenty of words have been expended on the beauty and history of Paris, but I was struck during my wanderings by how haunted the city often seemed. I felt my ghosts and Paris' ghosts. And I was confronted with whether I might be able to laugh with them or even dance with them. I'm not sure whether I'm capable of either of those actions, but I thought taking pictures was a good first step.

Take a moment to be haunted with me:

From the Plaza de Nation, about 5 blocks from our hotel

At the entrance to Notre Dame

Inside Notre Dame

The Eiffel Tower at night...city of lights indeed

Inside the Conciergerie

Handless saint on the first level of Saint Chapelle

On the second level of Saint Chapelle

In the Tuileries

At the entrance/exit of the Tuileries
